H65 brass

What Is H65 brass and brass strip?

The performance of H65 brass and H65 brass belt is between H68 and H62, and the price is cheaper than H68. It has good mechanical properties and higher strength and plasticity. It can withstand cold and hot pressure processing well and has a tendency to corrode and crack.

Origin of h65 name

It is an alloy composed of copper and zinc.

When the zinc content is less than 39%, zinc can be dissolved in copper to form a single-phase a, called single-phase brass, which has good plasticity and is suitable for cold, hot, and pressurized processing.

When the zinc content is greater than 39%, there are a single-phase and b solid solution based on copper and zinc, called dual-phase brass, b makes the plasticity small and the tensile strength increases, which is only suitable for hot press processing, if it continues to increase The mass fraction of zinc decreases the tensile strength and has no use value.

The code name is represented by “H + number”, H represents brass, and the number represents the mass fraction of copper. For example, H68 means that the copper content is 68%, and the zinc content is 32%. For brass, cast brass has a “Z” in front of the code. For example, ZH62 such as Zcuzn38 means that the zinc content is 38%, and the balance is copper. Cast brass.

H90 and H80 are single-phase, golden yellow, so they are collectively called gold, which are called plating, decorations, medals, etc. H68 and H59 belong to two-phase brass, which are widely used in structural parts of electrical appliances, such as bolts, nuts, washers, springs, etc.

In general, single-phase brass for cold deformation processing and dual-phase brass for hot deformation processing.

Material introduction

H65 brass is commonly used for H65 brass plates, H65 brass strips, H65 brass tubes, and H65 brass rods.

Main features

Ordinary brass has good mechanical properties, good plasticity in hot state, and plasticity in cold state, good machinability, easy brazing and welding, corrosion resistance, but easy to cause corrosion cracking. In addition, the price is cheap, and it is a common brass variety that is widely used. H62 (that is, four or six brass). The β phase is much harder than the α phase at room temperature, so it can be used for parts that bear larger loads. The α+β two-phase brass can be hot-worked above 600℃. α+β two-phase brass microstructure: α is a bright white solid solution, β is an ordered solid solution based on CuZn.

General purpose

It can be used for various deep drawing and bending stress parts, such as pins, rivets, washers, nuts, pipes, pressure gauge springs, screens, and radiators.

H65 brass is generally used to make small hardware, daily necessities, screws and other parts.

Brass tape is mainly used in the production of electrical components, lamp caps, battery caps, buttons, seals, connectors, and is mainly used as electrical, thermal, and corrosion resistant equipment. Such as electrical components, switches, gaskets, gaskets, electric vacuum devices, radiators, conductive base materials and automotive water tanks, heat sinks, cylinder fins and other parts.

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. The simplest brass is a binary alloy of copper and zinc, called simple brass or ordinary brass. Changing the zinc content in brass can obtain brass with different mechanical properties. The higher the content of zinc in brass, the higher its strength and lower plasticity.

The zinc content of brass used in industry does not exceed 45%. No matter how high the zinc content is, it will cause brittleness and deteriorate the properties of the alloy. In order to improve certain properties of brass, brass with other alloying elements added to the unitary brass is called special brass. Commonly used alloying elements are silicon, aluminum, tin, lead, manganese, iron and nickel.

Adding aluminum to brass can increase the yield strength and corrosion resistance of brass, and slightly reduce plasticity. Brass with less than 4% aluminum has good comprehensive properties such as processing and casting. Adding 1% tin to brass can significantly improve the brass’s ability to resist seawater and marine atmospheric corrosion, so it is called “navy brass”.

Tin can also improve the cutting performance of brass. The main purpose of adding lead to brass is to improve machinability and wear resistance, and lead has little effect on the strength of brass. Manganese brass has good mechanical properties, thermal stability and corrosion resistance; adding aluminum to manganese brass can also improve its performance and obtain smooth surface castings. Brass can be divided into casting and pressure processing products.
