What Is BFe10-1-1 Iron White Copper?

Grade: BFe10-1-1
Standard: GB/T 2059-2000

BFe10-1-1 is a structural iron-nickel alloy with less nickel. Compared with BFe30-1-1, its strength and hardness are lower, but its plasticity is higher and its corrosion resistance is similar. Can replace BFe30-1-1.

Characteristics and scope of application

The addition of Fe and Mn in the BFe10-1-1 alloy greatly improves the corrosion resistance of this material. In clean seawater, the alloy can accept water flow rates up to 2.2-2.5%/s. The maximum acceptable speed in the salt solution can reach 4m/s. The alloy can avoid stress corrosion cracking and high temperature spot denickel. Therefore, the alloy has good corrosion resistance to clean or polluted sea water and river bay water, and is widely used in heat exchangers that use sea water such as power stations, desalination, and petrochemical plants. Therefore, BFe10-1-1 is mostly used as plates and pipes

Corrosion resistance

The corrosion rates of BFe10-1-1 alloys with different rare earth contents in flowing seawater were measured, and the corrosion products were analyzed by means of X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscope.

the result shows

For the BFe10-1-1 alloy with the same composition, the greater the seawater flow rate, the greater the corrosion rate;
In flowing artificial seawater, the corrosion type of BFe10-1-1 alloy is mainly exfoliation. When the rare earth content is 0.04%, the alloy has the best seawater corrosion resistance, and a dense layer of rare earth-containing phase (such as CeNi5) is formed on the surface. The product layer has fewer microcracks and is firmly bonded to the substrate, which can effectively slow down the corrosion rate and improve the corrosion resistance;
When the content of rare earth is too high, the corrosion resistance will decrease instead.

Heat treatment specification

Casting temperature 1330~1350℃
Annealing temperature 750~800℃
Extrusion heat processing temperature 900~960℃
The low temperature annealing temperature to eliminate internal stress is 250~300℃.
