The deoxidation method will affect the type of inclusions in the steel, the fluidity of the molten steel and the cleanliness of the steel, so it is very important to choose the deoxidation method.
Generally, Si and Mn are commonly used for deoxidation of 3d printing mould steel. These deoxidants generally form deformable spherical silicate inclusions, which can float and be removed without affecting the pourability of molten steel.
Deoxidation with aluminum will form clusters of high melting point (2050°C) Al203 inclusions that are not deformable. Such inclusions will affect the pourability of the molten steel sheet metal fabrication and will also deposit on the wall of the tundish nozzle, causing blockage of the nozzle and affecting normal pouring. .
Using Si-Ca for deoxidation has better deoxidation effect, inclusion form and pourability of molten steel, but it is more expensive and produces smoke when added, which pollutes the working environment.
