The roll cross wedge rolling mill is the most widely used of the three types of rolling mills: its main advantages are as follows:
(1) High productivity, generally 6~25 (pairs)/min.
(2) Equipped with guide plate device. When the upper and lower rolls are rolling, there are two guide plates on the left and right to control the rolling piece. In this way, not only can the skew of the rolled piece be prevented, and the stability of the rolling process can be ensured, but also the dimensional accuracy of the product can be effectively controlled, which is beneficial to the realization of the precision cross wedge rolling process.
(3) Generally, radial, axial, phase and bell mouth adjustment mechanisms are provided, which can conveniently and accurately realize process adjustments. The shortcomings of the roll type cross wedge rolling mill are: the equipment structure is huge, the weight is large, and the floor space is large; the mold processing requires large-scale machine tools, etc. Roll type cross wedge rolling mills are divided into vertical and horizontal types according to the roll configuration. Compared with horizontal cross wedge rolling mills, vertical cross wedge rolling mills have the advantages of small footprint, convenient feeding and discharging, and easy loading and unloading of guide plates. Therefore, vertical cross wedge rolling mills are mostly used at home and abroad, but horizontal ones are used for small cross wedge rolling.
