The characteristics of roll forging are:
1) The required working load is smaller: The forming force required to continuously apply local pressure on the blank is smaller than that of die forging. Generally, a small-capacity roll forging machine is selected, and then a smaller-capacity shaping equipment is configured.
2) High production efficiency: The productivity of multi-groove roll forging is generally equivalent to that of die forging, while the productivity of single-groove one-time roll forging is significantly improved, about 5-10 times that of hammer die forging.
3) Low material consumption: The material utilization rate of roll forgings is generally above 80%.
4) The content of roll forgings is of excellent quality: good mechanical properties and high fatigue life.
5) Good working conditions: There is no impact during roll forging, and the vibration and noise are small. The working conditions are greatly improved, and it is easy to realize mechanization and automation.
