In the production of section steel, in order to obtain the required product shape and size, the billet is deformed in a series of annular holes composed of upper and lower rollers. The annular groove on the roll is called the rolling groove, and the annular hole composed of the two rolling grooves of the upper and lower rolls is called the pass. Pass design is the tool design for section steel rolling. Its task is to make the steel ingot or billet pass through several passes to obtain the required cross-sectional shape, size and certain product performance. The pass design should include the following three parts:
- 1) The profile design of the cross section is to determine the pass and pass deformation required for continuous deformation of the rolling piece according to the cross-sectional shape, size and product performance requirements of the raw material and finished product, and each hole required to complete the deformation process The shape and size of the model.
- 2) The roll pass design is to determine the distribution of the pass on each rolling mill according to the designed broken hole. The roll pass design should be able to meet various requirements such as normal rolling of the rolled piece, sufficient strength of the roll and the shortest rolling rhythm time.
- 3) The roll guide and guard design is the process accessory design to ensure that the rolled piece can enter and exit the pass smoothly.
