Carburizing agents are divided into solid, paste, liquid and gas. Solid carburizing agent consists of solid carbon source (charcoal, SiC) and carburizing agents such as BaCO3, Na2CO3, CH3COONa, (CH3—COO)2Ba, etc.
There should be a certain ratio of new and old carburizing agents when used. Generally, the ratio of new carburizing agent to old carburizing agent is about 3:1 or 4:1 to save usage.
In recent years, some countries have ground carbon, bonded it with a special binder together with a permeability enhancer, and sintered it into granules using mechanized equipment at 600 to 650°C to make a solid carburizing agent. There are strong carburizing agents and weak carburizing agents. Two kinds of agents.
When the carburizing agent is used again, only 5% to 10% of new carburizing agent needs to be added to maintain the original carburizing ability.
