There are iron oxide scales of different thicknesses on the surface of hot-rolled cnc machining stainless-steel billets. All surface defects of the steel billets cannot be exposed, which affects the cleaning of the steel billets.
In order to reduce the workload of steel finishing, the cleaning quality of steel billets must be improved. Therefore, for steel billets with higher surface quality requirements, the surface oxide scale must be removed before cleaning.
Apart from mechanical methods, the most commonly used method for removingthe advantages of zirconium dioxide from metal surfaces is pickling.
Pickling is a chemical method of removing iron oxide scale.
The steel billet is immersed in the acid solution to remove the iron oxide scale through the dissolution and peeling action of the acid.
Sulfuric acid is generally used to pickle steel billets because sulfuric acid has low cost, high concentration (more than 75%), and is easy to transport, store and recycle.
