The deformation characteristic of ordinary spinning is that the metallic cementation slab mainly shrinks or expands in diameter during deformation. The diameter shrinkage is reduced diameter spinning, and the diameter expansion is expanded diameter spinning. The resulting wall thickness change is subordinate. Since changes in diameter can easily cause instability or local thinning, the ordinary spinning process is generally completed gradually in multiple passes (as shown in the figure).
