Effect of temperature of sulfuric acid solution on pickling

The temperature of the sulfuric acid solution has a much greater impact on the pickling speed than the concentration. As can be seen from Figure 1, when the temperature rises from 18°C to 60°C, the temperature only increases 2.3 times, but the pickling speed increases 14 times; as can be seen from Figure 2, when the concentration of sulfuric acid solution increases from 2% At 25%, the concentration increased by 11.5 times, but the pickling speed only increased by 1 time.

In actual production, the pickling temperature is controlled at 45~80℃. When the concentration of sulfuric acid solution decreases, the pickling speed can be increased by increasing the temperature of the solution.

However, when the temperature is too high, the sulfuric acid interacts violently with the iron in the steel, easily causing hydrogen embrittlement defects in pickling, and excessive acid evaporation will worsen the working environment.
