Mechanism and process of inter-rack cooling in bar production

The processing deformation of the rolled piece on the finishing mill causes the heat value generated by the bar to exceed the heat loss caused by radiation, conduction and convection, so the temperature of the rolled piece increases when it passes through the finishing mill.

When inter-stand cooling is used, the temperature drop of the bar after finishing rolling is much greater than that after traditional hot rolling, so the purpose of grain refinement can be achieved. The inter-stand spray cooling equipment is placed between the stands of the intermediate rolling or finishing rolling mill and the cross-section of the rolled piece is round.

According to different final rolling temperature requirements, one to several water spray cooling devices are directly installed on the operation line. The specific setting position is between the rack outlet and the inlet end of the rack.

When two water spray cooling boxes are required, they can be arranged in series. If the process does not require water spray cooling, the cooling boxes can also be moved away from the operation line through a shift mechanism.
