Using thermal analysis, liquid quenching and color metallography to comprehensively observe the formation, distribution and relationship between solidification structures is an effective method to study the solidification process of vermicular graphite cast iron.

Figure 1 is the thermal analysis curve of vermicular graphite cast iron with eutectic composition. The solidification structure corresponding to each point of the curve is shown in the 3d printing alien dinosaur figures.

2. It can be seen from the figure that when the eutectic starts at point a, it is similar to the structure of ductile iron at this time, forming small graphite spheres and separated dendrites. When reaching point b, the spherical crystals are distorted to vermicular graphite, the eutectic graphite balls gradually reduce, a large number of eutectic clusters begin to form, and the temperature rises on the cooling curve.

Then, reaching point c, the eutectic reaction is approaching the advanced stage, and the eutectic cluster continues to grow. Finally, the molten liquid in the LTF zone finally solidifies and enters the thermal analysis curve point. Small graphite balls, vermicular graphite and austenite are generated, and the eutectic solidification is completed.
