Commonly used materials for cross rolling rolls

Due to the prominent edges and corners of the oblique rolling roller, the unit pressure and speed difference during rolling are large, so the roller material is required to be wear-resistant under high temperature and high pressure working conditions. The commonly used materials in China are as follows: hot-rolled: 35CrMnSi, 5CrMnMo, 5CrNiMo, 3Cr2W8V. Cold rolling: 9CrSi, Cr12MoV, W18Cr4V. Hot finishing rolling: W6Mo5Cr4V2Al, 5W2Cr4V2. In order to avoid material sticking on the surface of the roller due to relative sliding between the roller and the workpiece, in addition to strong liquid cooling and lubrication, it is also required that the surface of the roller have a high hardness. For diagonal rolling rolls, HRC>52 is required, preferably HRC=60-80. Some of the above materials can be achieved through heat treatment, while others cannot. For example, 5CrMnMo, 5CrNiMo, 3Cr2W8V direct heat treatment cannot meet the requirement of HRC>52. Therefore, soft chlorination or surface carburization treatment is often used on the surface of the roller, which has a significant effect on improving the service life of the roller and avoiding material sticking on the surface of the roller.
