Introduction: From October 23rd to 24th, 2021, the 2021 Academic Annual Meeting of the Chinese Society of Rare Earths will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan. Academician Huang Xiaowei, Chief Scientist of the Institute of Research, and Professor Feng Zongyu of the Institute of Rare Earths, respectively, serve as the chairman and executive chairman of the Rare Earth Resources Development and Environmental Protection and Analysis and Testing Branch. A total of 13 first-line researchers in the rare earth research institute conducted academic exchanges at the meeting. Among them, Zhang Yongqi, Chen Guantong, Wang Zilong and others were invited to give invited reports at the branch, on new rare earth green smelting and separation technologies, rare earth magnetism, luminescence, catalysis, and polishing. Such new materials have carried out academic exchanges, showing the latest progress and achievements made by the research rare earth in basic research, application research and industrialization innovation and development of rare earths.
The 2020 Rare Earth Science and Technology Award was awarded at the meeting, and the scientific and technological achievement “Full Spectrum High Color Rendering LED Lighting with High Performance Phosphors and Its Application” developed by the Institute of Rare Earths won the first prize of the 2020 Rare Earth Science and Technology Award.
The Chinese Rare Earth Society Academic Annual Conference is a grand meeting for academic, technological and industrial exchanges in the rare earth industry. This conference mainly focuses on the green development and utilization of rare earth resources, rare earth functional materials, rare earth biomedicine and other fields. It comes from various fields of the rare earth industry and key scientific research institutes across the country. A total of more than 800 experts from the institutes and universities and representatives of key rare earth enterprises attended the meeting and carried out high-level academic and technical exchanges in the field of rare earths.
