Hastelloy C276 round bar is a versatile nickel-molybdenum-chromium-tungsten alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and good workability. It has the following characteristics: 1. It has excellent corrosion resistance to most corrosive media in both oxidation and reduction atmospheres. 2. It has excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion. The higher content of molybdenum and chromium makes the alloy resistant to chloride ion corrosion, and the tungsten element further improves the corrosion resistance. Although Hastelloy C276 round rods do have good oxidation resistance, up to 1800°F, it is generally not recommended to use Hastelloy C276 in high temperature environments.
Nickel alloy C-276 resists the formation of grain boundary deposits in the welding heat-affected zone, making it a candidate material for most chemical and petrochemical processing applications under welding conditions. Hastelloy C276 round bar is a nickel alloy with excellent resistance to reducing acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, saline solution, oxidizing chloride and hot water.
Hastelloy C276 is also one of the few materials that are resistant to moisture chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide. This special nickel alloy has excellent resistance to crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and chloride pitting. Its low carbon content can minimize carbide precipitation during welding and maintain its excellent corrosion resistance. This means that C-276 can be easily manufactured by welding using methods similar to nickel-based alloys.
Hastelloy C276 round rods can be used in heat exchangers, bellows compensators, chemical equipment, flue gas desulfurization and destocking, paper industry, equipment and components in acidic environments, reactors for acetic acid and acid products, scrubbers in FGD systems, Sulfuric acid condenser, iron trichloride and copper dichloride, hot polluted solution (organic or inorganic), strong oxidant such as formic acid, sea water, salt solution environment, etc.
