liquid core straightening

During the continuous steel casting process, when the core of the cast slab is not completely solidified and liquid steel still exists, the continuous casting slab straightening technology is used to straighten the cast slab. Increasing the casting speed is an effective way to increase the production capacity of the continuous casting machine. However, as the die casting speed increases, the metallurgical length of the casting billet will increase accordingly. If a little solid phase straightening is still used at this time, it is bound to make the arc of the continuous casting machine The shape radius increases. This is obviously unreasonable. The use of liquid core straightening can solve the problem of increasing the arc radius of the continuous casting machine at high casting speeds. During liquid core straightening, the elongation ε of the inner surface of the shell should be controlled within the allowable range, that is, no internal cracks will occur. At this time, technologies such as multi-point straightening or continuous straightening need to be used for the slab. The elongation εn (%) of the inner surface of the slab has the following relationship with the curvature radii Rn and R n-1 of the center of the slab (see figure): where D is the thickness of the slab; δn is the slab at the radius of curvature Rn The shell is thick. And it is derived from this that the curvature radius Rn of the center line of the slab is necessary for the continuous die casting machine using multi-point straightening during liquid core straightening: where [ε]2 is the allowable elongation of the inner surface of the slab shell. . Depending on the steel type, the value usually ranges from 0.1% to 0.2%; the maximum value is less than 0.5%.
