Three methods and processes of stamping titanium tee

The titanium tee produced by the stamping process uses seamless tube blanks for one-time integral forming, mainly by extrusion forming, and the mechanical properties of the obtained parts are better than those of welded tee parts. The process of stamping and forming mainly includes three methods: filler bulging, hydraulic bulging, and hot press forming. The specific methods are as follows:

1. Packing extrusion forming:

Filling extrusion forming process adopts straight tube blanks filled with filler to squeeze forming. Put the tube blank into the mold cavity and close the mold, and then push it from both sides at the same speed with a punch with the same diameter as the tube. Out of the molding tee. In order to prevent the branch pipe from bursting under the action of the internal pressure of the filler, a balance punch is installed in the radial hole of the die, and enough balance pressure is applied to the extruded branch pipe to support the violent bulging of the branch pipe.

The titanium three-way pipe fittings extruded by the filler swelling process have the same wall thickness in all directions, the thickness of the pier is small, and the height of the extruded part is 2 to 3 times the pipe diameter. The filler and the metal tube move synchronously in the mold cavity, and there is no mechanical scratch on the inner wall of the tube. One of the key technologies of this process is the selection of bulging media (filler). The bulging media mainly include paraffin, butter, clay, nylon, silicone rubber and polyurethane rubber. Tee parts with high requirements on the inner wall can choose nylon, polyurethane rubber, silicon rubber, etc. as the medium; and for the workpieces with low or no requirements on the inner wall, paraffin wax can be used as the medium, which can be recycled and has low cost.

2. Hydraulic bulging:

The three-way hydraulic bulging is a forming process in which the branch pipe is expanded by the axial compensation of the metal material. Its working principle is to use a hydraulic press to put a tube blank with the same diameter as the titanium tee into the cavity, press the clamping mold, inject the tube blank liquid, and squeeze the tube blank by the two horizontal side cylinders of the hydraulic press. Tube blank, the volume of the tube blank becomes smaller after being squeezed, and the pressure of the liquid in the tube blank increases as the volume of the tube blank becomes smaller. Flow and expand the required shape and size of the branch pipe. In order to prevent the branch pipe from rupturing, it is necessary to add a balance punch to support the violent deformation of the branch pipe.

The suitable forming materials for hydraulic bulging titanium tees are carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel with relatively low cold hardening tendency, including some non-ferrous metal materials, such as copper, aluminum, and titanium.

3, hot press forming:

Hot pressing is made into tee after heating, and the equipment tonnage required for material molding is low. Its process is to flatten the tube blank larger than the diameter of the titanium tee to the size of the tee diameter, and open a hole at the branch tube to heat the tube blank. In the process of radial compression, the metal will flow in the direction of the branch pipe, and the branch pipe will be formed under the stretching of the mold. The whole process of hot forming is through the radial compression of the tube blank and the drawing process of the branch tube. The difference between forming tee and hydraulic bulging is that the metal of the tee branch tube is compensated by the radial movement of the tube blank, so it is also called Radial compensation process.

Hot-pressed titanium tees are suitable for low-carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel, especially tees with large diameters and thicker tube walls. They are often manufactured by hot-press forming.
