In the first three quarters, the company’s aluminum output totaled 2.393 million tons, an increase of 1% year-on-year. Mainly because of a strike at the Kitimat smelter. On October 2, Rio Tinto reached a new collective labor agreement for the operation of its factories in British Columbia, including the Kitimat Smelter and Kemano Hydropower Plant.
